Scaling B2B Video Reach and International Visibility Through Strategic Distribution

Benevity, a purpose-driven SaaS platform supporting corporate social impact and employee engagement, already had an established YouTube presence. The next challenge was turning that foundation into consistent audience growth, broader reach, and stronger visibility in the UK.

By pairing brand-aligned video content with strategic paid distribution, Sweet Fish helped Benevity reach more of the right viewers, accelerate subscriber growth, and expand its presence in a key international market.

The Challenge

Benevity had an established YouTube presence before partnering with Sweet Fish, but wanted to turn video into a more consistent driver of audience growth and brand visibility.

Their goals included:

  • Growing their YouTube audience with the right viewers

  • Increasing overall video reach

  • Expanding visibility in the UK, a strategic geographic priority

  • Building momentum without relying on viral performance or clickbait tactics

The Approach

Sweet Fish partnered with Benevity to build a strong video foundation first, then scale reach through distribution.

The engagement unfolded in phases:

  1. Content foundation:
Sweet Fish launched new long-form video content aligned to Benevity’s brand and audience, initially with minimal paid distribution.

  2. Distribution activation:
In late October, Benevity layered in paid YouTube distribution to extend reach beyond existing subscribers and accelerate growth.

Throughout the engagement, success was measured using audience growth, views, and reach — metrics aligned with early- and mid-funnel B2B impact.

The Results

Phase 1: Pre–Sweet Fish

  • Starting subscriber base: 6,600

Phase 2: Sweet Fish Content

June–October

Even before activating paid distribution, Benevity saw steady momentum from new content:

  • 64,850 total views
  • 6.4K average monthly views
  • +613 net new subscribers

This phase established a strong content baseline and validated audience interest.

Phase 3: Paid Distribution Activated

November–December

Once paid distribution was introduced, performance accelerated sharply over a short window:

  • 161,227 total views in ~60 days
  • ~4,100 net new subscribers, bringing total subscribers to 11,350
  • 93.9% of views from non-subscribers, signaling strong top-of-funnel reach
  • UK viewership increased from 3.5% to 25.1%, supporting Benevity’s international growth goals

Why This Worked

This strategy succeeded because it treated video as a distribution and credibility channel, not a conversion shortcut.

Key factors included:

  • Building a strong content foundation before scaling reach
  • Prioritizing audience growth and reach over vanity engagement metrics
  • Using paid distribution to extend visibility beyond existing subscribers
  • Aligning performance expectations with B2B buying behavior and long sales cycles

For B2B brands like Benevity, video performance isn’t defined by clicks alone.

By pairing strong content with strategic distribution, Sweet Fish helped Benevity significantly expand its audience, accelerate visibility, and establish a meaningful presence in a key international market — all while staying aligned with long-term demand goals.
